Women's Reservation: NOT About Gender Equality!

I've participated in feminist and gender equality causes to the extent of holding placards and raising slogans. And I know, and many of my feminist women friends know, that this is taking ten steps back in the cause 🙂, this is losing hard earned ground 🙂. This is not about "gender equality", this is not about affirmative action, this is simply vote bank politics.

Why allow people to tell you for the rest of your life that you took something not through pure effort and merit but because some politician or the other bought your vote in exchange of a freebie 🙂?

When it comes to physical sports, men and women compete amongst themselves separately - and that's understandable because they are different physically. But this is academics, and I don't think there's any evidence that women and men are any different when it comes to the brain! So, step forward and compete, make your presence felt fair and square! Keep your self respect intact!

Don't beg! Earn!
