What we frequently see around us impacts and shapes our minds, affects the flow of thoughts, desires and aspirations in us, and hence has a say on the goals we set for ourselves in life.
With the above in mind, consider this:
What do you see all around you when you step out of home today?
Answer: Shops selling food, liquor, fashion, high budget cell phones, gadgets, automobiles, jewelry, ... And observe carefully 😅: Products belonging to the realm of the intellect and aesthetic sense - books, musical instruments, painting and craft accessories - are all but missing now from our physical marketplaces 😅! (There are easy enough workarounds to the discounts platforms such as amazon offer: for example, Barnes & Noble Booksellers in the USA also have coffee shops and allow people to go through books as they drink their coffee so that they have the time to explore books and buy something they like!)
So you have an entire generation coming up whose minds are constantly inundated with everything material and almost nothing aesthetic or intellectual!
I think this shift is impacting the way our societies and the world at large are evolving more deeply than many people realize! I see people becoming cruder with each other, less sensitive to others' feelings and emotions, more materialistic, more greedy, more shallow, less accommodating, more selfish, ...
This is not movement in the right direction! We need to do whatever needs to be done to bring a shift in peoples' consciousness and emphasize the inner dimension of life a little more.
