Perhaps the most disgraceful set of people you will find in academia are professors who regurgitate the same notes in class year after year for so many years that their notes actually start turning yellow (or their ppt slides become "timeless unchanging hostel property"). They neither update their knowledge of any given subject, nor are they interested in expanding their knowledge by teaching a new subject every once in a while. Whenever you meet such a professor, know for sure that his or her research is going to be second hand too - the desire to learn, to dig deeper cannot be different in teaching and research! Know also that these are also the professors who take institutes towards stagnation - the desire to change and evolve cannot be different in teaching and institute building! This is the first set of professors to be weeded out of institutes if our students are to get a fair deal.
