Here's a strong movie recommendation for the weekend: Pinjar (2003)
It's a true story based on incidents during the India-Pakistan partition. Some of the romance depicted might feel old school from today's viewpoint, but just be ok with that and let the movie speak to you. It took me two viewings to get some of the nuances. It's an amazing movie!
After you've seen the movie, read about Amrita Pritam, the novelist whose book the movie is based on. I promise you: You'll find yourself being introduced to one of the most beautiful people to have lived in the last century.
