Isn't the word "scientific" grossly misused? Anyone wants to get your attention for something you may not have heard before, and they go: "Oh this is absolutely scientific!"
In fact, whenever I see someone claiming something is scientific a little too emphatically, I take them on on their understanding of the scientific method! I ask them about the hypotheses that were laid out, the experiments conducted, observations made and their analysis, conclusions arrived at, questions still open, and so on...
The result is often a hasty retreat, sometimes a bit agitated. But it's worth it. It's important to keep people honest.
PS: Isn't it plainly obvious that this post is not a criticism of science, rather, a shout out that using the term "scientific" loosely isn't cool! It's a disservice to science!
