Of all the Gods, Goddesses and Divine Beings, our first obeisance is always to Mother Saraswati, the bestower of Knowledge.
For without Knowledge, where is honest wealth even?
It is said that Saraswati and Lakshmi are sisters and Lakshmi frolicks joyfully hiding behind Saraswati. Only when Saraswati enters your being does Lakshmi reveal herself.
(And no, corrupt ill-gotten wealth at the expense of others' oppression is no manifestation of Lakshmi. Such wealth brings no peace, no fulfillment, no sacredness. It simply destroys you bit by bit.)
