Vidyaarthi is a composite of two words: Vidya (Knowledge) + Arth (Purpose or Meaning or Gain).
The stage of being a student is thus when one ascribes one's purpose or meaning in life to seeking knowledge, when one considers knowledge to be the entity primarily worth gaining.
First knowledge, then anything else. Seek. Be humble and seek while you have the opportunity and capacity to learn.
For who knows what the future holds? This opportunity may never come again.
Note: The above does not argue against the presence of extra curricular activities on school and college campuses. There's a time and place for everything, and as long as one keeps the balance and avoids frittering away time meaninglessly, its all good.
