It's way more important to be smart than to own a smart phone :)!
And by being smart I don't mean the clothes one
wears, the cologne one puts on, or the amount of gel one puts in his hair :).
I mean being smart in one's head. Being intelligent. Being sensible.
It's one thing if your work involves a lot of travel and you need a phone with
internet capability, etc. And even in this scenario there's hardly a reason to
keep buying new smart phones often. Buy what you need, use it till a
replacement is really needed, then buy a new one.
But if you are spending money on buying smart phones just so that others think
you are "cool" and all you really use them for is to be on facebook
or Instagram or whatsapp etc. etc., then ask yourself this:
That money you spend on buying a fancy smart phone : Is it the smartest use of
money you can think of? Maybe buy some books instead and grow intellectually?
Musical instruments? Travel? Or maybe help someone in need?
Perhaps equally importantly: Is it your own hard earned money? Or are you
blowing up your parents' money :)?
The market will always want you to keep consuming :). It's *you* who has to be
smart and use your resources sensibly. You don't exist so that others can make
profits. You exist so that you can grow, live a good life, and help those who
are less fortunate along the way.
Be smart. Be intelligent. Be sensible. Be wise.
