Beats me hollow! Thousands of liters of milk is offered in Shiv temples every day and thousands of kilograms of sweets and innumerable coconuts as prasad while the world grapples with hunger in ways you cannot imagine. I'm sure the same happens in places of worship for other religions as well.

Crores of rupees (above and beyond what is fairly due to purohits and pujaris for their services!) and much silver and gold as offerings to Him who is said to be the lord of the universe, while poverty is killing - literally, not in imagination, - countless human beings around the world.
What is wrong with us? Where is our intelligence? Where is our sense of proportion, sympathy and compassion? What kind of spirituality is this?
