Unity and Uniformity

Unity and Uniformity are widely different concepts and each has its place.

Institutions such as the armed forces and schools need both.

But at a cultural, linguistic and religious level, an insistence on uniformity is poison. Here we need to be united while embracing the whole spectrum of diversity.

And then there are elements that promote crime and violence. With them, we reject both. We hold ground and insist that they transform and evolve.

Application of concepts depends on the context. A whole lot of trouble can be avoided if we apply this principle.
