Your first and most fundamental commitment is towards the right thing to do in any given situation.
Then come all your other commitments: Parents, Teachers, Friends, Relatives, Political Party, Government, ...
Your commitment towards righteousness has to be even higher than your affection for your country.
If your country is doing something wrong on the international stage, you have to be able to say it. If another country needs your support in the cause of righteousness, then so be it.
You are a citizen of the world first!
There are so many examples of people who understand this principle. There are wonderful British citizens who are firmly critical of its colonial past. There are American and British citizens who opposed the destruction of Iraq and called out the lie on weapons of mass destruction.
This doesn't make these people "anti national". It makes them sincere people and A grade world citizens who want what's best for everyone. We need more such people everywhere : absolutely soaked in sincerity and absolutely unafraid to speak up.
