How can a pandemic driven financial crunch in an organization lead to layoffs till everyone, starting from the top, has come down - in steps - to the lowest salary in the organization?
CEO --> 2nd level.
Entire 2nd level --> 3rd level.
Entire 3rd level --> 4th level.
In the process someone wants to quit: Ok! That's their choice and we wish them the best!
But you simply can't talk about being one team, one family, if you can't forego salary differentials in times of crisis.
What is this laying off lower level employees to protect the richer pockets about? That makes no sense to me whatsoever.
If you want to lead, you have to be willing to protect at your cost when needed.
Are you seeing this?
[Note: Taking away an employee's livelihood during a time of crisis while taking home a substantial salary yourself also defies every single value we would like to instill in our children! And if we can't demonstrate values in our life even during times of crisis, how do we expect anyone, particularly our children, to listen to us?]
