Luggage Scanning at Railway / Bus Stations

Scanning of luggage at railway stations was stopped a few years ago.

One may ask: Why scan luggage at railway stations when mischief can happen at crowded places in general?

My response: Because (a) scanning luggage at railway stations, bus terminals, etc. can also help in our fight against drugs and any other illegal merchandise and (b) wherever we can put measures to enhance safety, we should.

I believe luggage should get scanned not just at railway stations of big cities but at each and every railway station and intercity bus terminus. If several scanning machines and more security personnel need to be deployed for this, then so be it. (And alongside, people can practice some patience. Arriving a few minutes earlier to do your bit towards a more secure and crime free society is quite worth it.)

No compromise on safety at any cost or for any reason.
